Thomas (Eddie) Edward Lirio Sisson
2013 – Living
This curated foundation begins with my son, Eddie, and follows our verified family branches backward through the generations. Each branch begins with Eddie, then moves through me to my biological parents, my grandparents, and the direct ancestral lines connected to each of them.
My biological grandmother was married twice, and both of those branches are included for different reasons. Her first marriage represents the biological family line I am tracing. Her second husband, Edward Sisson, raised me as his own, and I was given his last name at birth. Because of that, the Sisson Branch is included as an honor line.
Technically, some may view me as a Grubbs through my biological father, or as a Tindell through my biological mother, who was unmarried when I was born. However, I was born a Sisson, raised as a Sisson, and gave my son the Sisson name. I will carry that name throughout my life. One day it will be inscribed on my tombstone, while continuing through my son and, God willing, the generations that follow him. It is important to me that this project honor that family line as well.
My wife’s side of the family will be added in the future. Those branches may not be as extensive because records from the Philippines are more difficult for us to locate, but we are reaching out to family members and gathering as much information as we can before those names, stories, and connections are lost forever.

This branch follows Eddie through me to my biological father, Jack Grubbs, and then backward through the direct Grubbs ancestry. I never had the opportunity to know my father personally, but he was real, his life mattered, and because of him I am here.

This branch follows Eddie through his mother, Rio, to her biological father and the Mazo family of the Philippines. Rio did not have the opportunity to know her father, making this one of the most difficult branches to research, but we will continue searching for the names and history that belong to this part of Eddie's ancestry.

This branch follows Eddie through me, my mother Crystal, and her biological father, Allan Ray Tindell. I did have the opportunity to meet my grandfather and learn something about him, and the records that remain allow this biological maternal line to be traced farther backward.

This branch follows Eddie through his mother, Rio, to her mother and the Lirio family of the Philippines. This is the family that raised Rio and taught her what family means. Her Lola and Lolo, grandmother and grandfather, and her Titas and Titos, aunts and uncles, remain a strong part of who she is.

This honor branch follows Eddie through me to my mother Crystal, her mother Helen, and Helen's second husband, Edward Sisson. On paper Edward was my step-grandfather. In my life he was my dad. He raised me, gave me his name, and that name now continues through my son.
